Wow! It’s amazing how much work students did today during math class without even realizing it!

First, students measured a number of straws and created line plots to display their data.

Next, students thought about questions they could write about their data to challenge the rest of us.  We made a list of appropriate math vocabulary to help us think about possible questions.

Then, students moved around the classroom, looking at each other’s line plots, answering questions, and checking the answers.  If students were unsure of an answer they discussed it with the line plot creator and came up with a consensus.
