Classroom Word Wall

We have a large word wall in our classroom that we use everyday in all subject areas.  We practise reading and spelling these words everyday in order to build our sight word vocabulary.  Words are added to the wall gradually, as we find a need for them. Sometimes words are added because they contain a specific spelling pattern and sometimes words are chosen from the students’ writing and have-a-go pads. The students know these words as “no-excuse” words. They are expected to be able to read and spell each word correctly.

You can practise these words at home, too!  Check out the new blog page, “Classroom Word Wall”.  It will be updated weekly.
