Making Stone Soup – Descriptive Feedback

We first read the story, “Stone Soup” by Jon Muth.  Then, as a next step in our procedural writing unit we wrote a procedure for making stone soup together, as a class.  When we finished many of us had ideas about what was good about our procedure and what we should do to revise it.  Check out our voicethread and hear how we are working on our descriptive feedback skills!

Please check back often as more feedback comments are added throughout the week!

Finding Descriptive Words

Today we read the text:  A View From Above.  First we read it for enjoyment. Then we read it like a writer.  We searched for words that the writer used to help the reader make pictures in his mind.  We posted the words we found on a Wall.  Check it out on our blog page, “A Page Of Walls”.  We were then able to all see the words, read them, and talk about them together!
