The students had a lot of fun learning with Four Fish!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First we read the poem, listening to the rhythm and rhyme of the poem. Students took turns acting out the action with fish swimming in our “carpet sea”.  Next it was time to pick out the number words and place the numerals over the words.

Then it was time to continue the activity during math learning centres.  Students made fish puppets and used numerals and the poem to retell the number story.

Throughout this activity students worked on identifying and counting sets using one more and one less counting patterns  as well as identifying numerals and number words to 4.
