The Ideal Classroom

We started our year off talking about what would make room 210 the ideal classroom. The students brainstormed their ideas, we talked about our ideas in a community circle and then we agreed on some Community Agreements.

Once we established our classroom agreements we traced our hands, decorated them, and posted them around the bulletin board as a symbol that we have “made a deal” with each other.

The Greatest Is The Least!

Lots of fun and learning went on in math class today! We have been learning how to compare and order 3-digit numbers. Today we practised those skills playing the game, “The Greates Is The Least”.

For this game you need 9-sided dice. Player 1 rolls the dice and records a 3-digit number, using the numbers on the dice. Player 2 does the same. Compare the numbers. Which player has the lowest number? Circle it. Play 10 rounds. the player with the most circles wins!

Question! What strategies did you use when playing the game? Would you prefer to be player 1 or player 2?
