We’ve done a lot of reading, viewing and discussing. Now it’s time to show what we have learned. Students used Google Drawing to create an image/word collage.

We have started a new unit in math – Algebra! Throughout this unit we will be applying knowledge and skills from many of our other units.
Today our WALT is: (We Are Learning To)
Let’s start with a story then use ideas from the story to investigate input and output numbers, determine patterns, write equations, and create a bar graph.
We began our DeforestAction Project by researching a bit about rainforests. None of the students know much about this type of forest. We made predictions, did some reading on the internet and then confirmed and adjusted some of our beginning ideas. While doing all that we used what we learned about “hamburgers” to write a complete paragraph, answering the question, “What is a rainforest?” Read our paragraphs. Can you identify all of the parts of a “hamburger”?
We have been busy researching information to answer the question, “What is a rainforest?” as part of our new DeforestAction project. But what do we do with all of the jot notes we have collected?
We write a hamburger! As a class we practised writing a plan for a paragraph. We chose a topic we all knew something about – Wyevale school.
Then we used the plan to write a complete paragraph.
