Each week our class engages in Dot Talks.  Dot talks are a good way to help students build a visual link to composing and decomposing numbers.  Through this task students have the opportunity to count, see numbers in a variety of ways, subitize, and make number connections.  We also use this as an opportunity to look critically and use descriptive language.
